I can’t believe Gavin is two months old already! He went in for his check-up on Thursday. He gained over a pound in the past month, but still falls under 10 lbs. It puts him in the 25th percentile for weight. He is now 23 inches tall though so he is really shooting up. The boy is all legs!
He’s really social lately and will coo or smile at anyone who will give him attention. He adores his big sisters and enjoys it when they sing to him. His sleep schedule is all wacky though and I’m not sure I’m happy with it. Lol… he will pass out around 7 p.m.and wake about midnight to eat. He then sleeps until about 6:00 a.m. when I’ll feed him again. Chances are he then will fall BACK to sleep again and sleep until almost 10:00 a.m. What’s wrong with that you may ask? He doesn’t sleep during the day!! I would much rather he nap a bit during the day since I’m up anyway at night with Shealyn. Lol Life isn’t fair…
He was not happy one bit about the four shots he got and he showed the nurse his best “I’m not happy!” big lip pout. He got over the initial shock quickly but then had a fit about the two bandaids on his thighs. He kept kicking his legs and waving his hands in the general direction. I took them off and he immediately calmed. I think he would have ripped them off himself if he was able to use his hands! Lol It seems Shealyn’s dislike of bandaids may have passed along to Gavin. God help us…
Okay so I finally convinced Kaitrinn to write in the journal Da made her for Christmas…. She had originally ‘saved’ it because she already was writing in a journal daily at school. Why have two? I slipped it into her art supply stash the other day and was happy to see her tackle it. So what did she write? “I’m exsided that I’m going to ferst grade! It’s going to be fun.” Now why am I not surprised that this is what is on her mind? Lol… returning to school is all she talks about right now.
It’s nice to write a post about Shealyn that does NOT revolve around her Diabetes… =)
She was climbing on Daddy this afternoon as he was laying on the couch. She suddenly went headfirst over his legs and basically landed on her head and hands on the floor. It was as if it happened in slow motion. She caught herself so we knew she wasn’t hurt. We both just bit our lips to see what her reaction would be. Typically, she gets embarrassed and starts to cry for the blow to her pride.
She calmly said “I tried to balance” and Louie and I just lost it. Yeah, you sure did try honey. She then fussed at us, for “it wasn’t funny!” and then promptly hid in the hall coat closet.
